Hi! I'm Talia and in 2018 I created Simple + Sultry. I had been working in the world of weddings for a few years, and in 2017 I married my husband and my craft became that much more special to me. I want to help people glow on their big day. Everyone deserves their day of love and laughter and I want to help create the day of your dreams. Simple + Sultry was named after my artistic style. I find beauty in soft, simple yet sultry looks with a laissez-faire whim about them.

I am a makeup artist who hates how makeup feels on the skin, so I have strived very hard to find products, tools, and techniques that allow me to apply beautiful yet comfortable makeup. I tend towards a natural style with a romantic allure, and work well with clients who have an aligned vision. I always talk to clients to get a feel of who they are and what would work best for them, and I always ask before we're done, "Do you still feel like you?" Similarly, my hairstyling tends toward a more natural, romantic, soft look. Never too coiffed. And I absolutely love working with natural curls!

My wife and I were recommended Talia at Simple Sultry by our wedding planner, and their name also came up in several Reddit threads. As a queer couple, it was really important to us to prioritize queer (or queer friendly) vendors, and we could not have asked for a better experience. Talia is TALENTED and their prices couldn't be beat. We absolutely loved their portfolio and were happy to see a lot of glowing reviews. It's my pleasure to add onto those glowing reviews and recommend them to anyone in search of hair and makeup, irrespective of how you identify. They were communicative and easy to coordinate with. They were flexible with timing and accommodated all of our needs, and guided us through the process of figuring out what we wanted. For our wedding day, they did hair and makeup with an associate for some of our wedding party, and everyone loved their looks. The makeup was flawless and very high quality - I cried at least 4 times during my wedding and I swear it did not BUDGE. Thank you, Talia, for making our hair and makeup visions come true!!!

I don't normally wear makeup, but I wanted to feel extra confident and glam on my wedding day. Talia was the perfect fit for me. I was drawn to them because of their queer-friendly approach: I knew they would work well with a nontraditional bride. Talia helped me hone in on what I wanted during the trial and absolutely nailed the look on the day. I got so many compliments and I love how I look in the photos. I was an extremely sweaty bride, but my makeup lasted all night. I highly recommend SimpleSultry!

My hair is notoriously untamable amongst my friend group and somehow Talia tamed the beast. I’ve never felt more confident or beautiful. They guided me through the process of using extensions for the first time, easing every concern and helping me find the perfect type. On top of that, they did an incredible job with my mom’s hair too—we both felt amazing and looked our absolute best. Talia was so responsive and easy to work with, coordinating seamlessly with our planner and vendors. The result? Hair that made me feel like a goddess queen. My friends could not stop talking about how incredible it looked—and honestly, neither could I. Talia truly works magic, and I can’t recommend them enough for your big day.

I have never in my life felt so beautiful as on my wedding day, and I cannot thank Talia enough for more than just their work -- they put up with my friends and family with continuous grace and even heroically styled flowers in my hair after the florist dropped the ball on making a hairpiece. In the end, I think my hair actually looked better than it would have -- so many of my favorite photos from the wedding are of the back of my head because my hair looked so, so, so pretty. My sister, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, all, too, looked so stunning and perfect even after dancing and sweating all night. Talia is so talented! Any bride would be lucky to have them for HMU!
